Ubisoft rolls out one big news after the other. Following the company's recent announcement of a new Star Wars game in the works, Ubisoft officially welcomed the return of a cult classic beat-em-up game. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game returns triumphantly to digital storefronts after an extended seven-year absence.

Ubisoft developed the game in 2010 as part of the release of the Scott Pilgrim movie directed by Edgar Wright. The game soon amassed a cult following as it strikes at the heart of nostalgic video gamers. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game is a 2d pixel side-scrolling beat-em-up that features the characters from the graphic novel.

Ubisoft shocked players and fans when the game was delisted on the Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network in 2014. Now, the game “re-releases” on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Stadia.

Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O'Malley said in mid-2020 that there were initially no plans from Ubisoft to re-release the game. Fortunately for Scott Pilgrim fans, Ubisoft changed their minds. Ubisoft officially announced the return of the game in September 2020 before a subsequent announcement revealing a January 2021 launch date.
