No Richard Sherman. No problem.
Despite Sherman taking his cornerback talents to the Bay Area this past offseason, the quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks warns the NFL not to take the unit lightly, via 710 ESPN Radio.
“For me, I think a lot of people are sleeping on the talent that we have in the room,” Wagner said during a guest appearance on 710 ESPN Seattle Monday morning. “A lot of people are saying it's a fresh start. No, it's just kind of that mentality. We had guys that left for whatever reason and it's the next-guy-up mentality.”
Seattle finished 11th in total defense a season ago while sporting a total of 323.2 yards per game. By way of scoring defense, the unit ranked 13th in the NFL tied with the Dallas Cowboys at 20.8 points a contest.
The previously aforementioned Sherman is now gone. On top of the that, Earl Thomas' future in the Great Northwest is still very much in doubt. The combination of negative factors has led to this once great unit looking and feeling in doubt heading into the 2018 season.

“Before we get off, I would like to take this time to shout out to Earl Thomas,” Wagner said. “I think he's an amazing player, he's an amazing person, he's a Hall of Famer. And just let him know that we're over here and we're wishing for the best in that situation and we're thinking about him. And I just want him to know that.”
Wagner tallied 97 tackles, two interceptions and 1.5 sacks a year ago in the second-straight First-Team All-Pro season of his young career. In total, he's been named to that prestigious category three times.
The Legion of Boom may be done, but Bobby Wagner has many years left.
