The Seattle Seahawks were dealt a number of devastating blows during the loss to the the Arizona Cardinals in Week 16. It seems running back C.J. Promise can now be added to the list of players that suffered a severe injury during the 27-13 upset.
According to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times, head coach Pete Carroll says Promise is out for the remainder of the 2019 NFL: season after suffering a broken arm:
Carroll said Prosise broke his arm. He’s done for year too. Seahawks will be signing running backs.
It is safe to say that Week 16 was a rather disappointing one for Seattle. Not only did they surrender their lead in the NFC West, but the injuries they suffered will leave some rather notable voids in the offense for the playoffs.
The Seahawks backfield has been dismantled by injuries as of late. Running back Rashaad Penny suffered a torn ACL during the loss to the Rams in Week 14. Aside from Prosise, running back Chris Carson suffered a hip injury against the Cardinals. Although the severity of the injury has yet to be determined, he has already been ruled out for the rest of the year.
As a result, Seattle will now have a major void to fill in the backfield with all three of their options going down with injuries. Meanwhile. left tackle Duane Brown is set to undergo a knee procedure and has been ruled out for the divisional title game against the San Francisco 49ers in the season finale.
