The Seattle Seahawks suffered a slew of injuries to the running back position in Week 7, and they'll be shorthanded at the position in Week 8. According to the Seahawks, Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde are officially inactive versus the San Francisco 49ers.

Jamal Adams is also still out. Adams has been out since Week 3 with a groin strain.

During the Seahawks' shootout against the Arizona Cardinals last Sunday night, Carson, Hyde, and Travis Homer all sustained injuries. All three of them exited early from the game, leaving Seattle thin at the running back position.

Carson left the game with a foot injury that was described as a mid-foot sprain and was unable to practice during the week. Hyde was dealing with a lingering hamstring injury during the week, causing him to be sidelined.

At the least, while Carson and Hyde are out, Homer will be able to go for the Seahawks on Sunday. Homer was dealing with a knee contusion following Seattle's first loss of the season.

With Russell Wilson under center, Seattle is completely fine letting him cook through the air as he has been doing this season. But with Carson and Hyde out, the Seahawks will rely on unproven running backs against their NFC West rival. Along with Homer, expect rookie DeeJay Dallas to see some more touches in the offense.

Seattle is 5-1 on the season, while San Francisco is 4-3 in the ultra-competitive NFC West. While the Seahawks just lost their first game of the season, the 49ers have won two straight games.
