Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf has a chance to do something historic. He will be competing in the 100 meter dash at the USATF Golden Games that could lead him to qualify for the Olympic Trials.

While he may not be a track star, Metcalf undoubtedly has the physical tools. To recall, he once chased down Budda Baker to prevent a pick six during a Seahawks game against Arizona Cardinals. He was clocked in at 22.64 miles per hour on the said play, which turned into this challenge to qualify for the Olympic Trials.

Moreover, it is worth noting that he did run track in high school. He competed as both a sprinter and a hurdler.

DK Metcalf is one of if not the most athletic player in the NFL, and it shows. His 6-foot-4 frame paired with his elite speed makes it hard for any corner to guard him in the pro league. He finished with 1,303 receiving yards last season, including 10 touchdowns.

It would be a historic feat if Metcalf is able to qualify. Being an elite wide receiver and an Olympic track star would make his athletic resume even crazier. It will be tough as he will likely need to run the 100 meters in 10.2 seconds or less, but if there's anyone who can do it, it's the Seahawks rising star. If he somehow breaks 10.05 seconds, he would be automatically qualified for the Olympic Trials.

The Seahawks wideout could go down as one of the greatest athletes of all time if he qualifies. Being at the top of the game in two different sports would make it hard to not include him on that list. Whatever happens in this event, it will be a fun one to watch.
