Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin is expected to play in Week 15 against the San Francisco 49ers barring any unforeseen setback, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Baldwin missed the Seahawks’ Week 14 win against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football due to a hip injury he initially suffered in Week 13 against the San Francisco 49ers. Although, he was finally able to return to practice Thursday.

Baldwin has had a tough injury-hit season in 2018. He had also been battling knee injuries earlier in the year, which have been a big reason why he has posted his lowest numbers — 37 catches for 388 yards and 2 touchdowns — since 2012.

The Seahawks passing game sans Baldwin was not effective against the Vikings. Quarterback Russell Wilson went just 10 of 20 for 72 yards. Instead, they turned to their rushing attack, which gashed Minnesota for 214 yards.

However, Baldwin’s return should help the Seahawks’ passing attack to bounce back. Wilson had just 11 completions for 185 yards in the first meeting against San Francisco a couple weeks ago, but he did throw four touchdown passes. Baldwin was a recipient of one of those four TDs as the wideout had two catches for 22 yards.

The Seahawks can clinch a playoff berth if they sweep the season series against the Niners. Baldwin’s presence in the lineup should help them achieve that goal, even if he isn’t quite back to full capacity following that injury.
