Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin has been no stranger to injury in the 2018 NFL season. Fortunately, he is optimistic about his health for the playoffs.

Baldwin landed on the injury report this week due to a knee injury. However, his recovery has been boosted by the start of the postseason, via John Boyle of the team's website:

“The biggest thing is the emotional part of it,” he said. “You feel like you’re in the playoffs so it doesn’t matter what’s thrown at you. You can handle it, and there’s a newness or a refreshing feeling to it because you feel like you’re going into a tournament where anything can happen, and the only thing that really matters is winning, so you put aside everything that you’ve been dealing with in the past subconsciously and you can go for it. I mean, I was talking to our equipment staff yesterday about this. I just feel so much more vibrant. The energy is there because I know it’s playoff time. We look forward to these moments, and I’m not saying that we treat them differently, I’m just saying that there’s a certain energy when you get into the tournament. It’s undeniable.”

This is certainly an encouraging update for Seahawks fans. Baldwin has been dealing with lingering injuries throughout the course of the 2018 campaign. As a result, he experienced a bit of a down year after registering just 50 catches for 618 yards and five touchdowns.

Regardless, there is no denying that Seattle's offense is much better when Baldwin is in the mix. He has served as quarterback Russell Wilson's No. 1 option over the last several years. It became evident in Week 16 that their chemistry had not wavered when they combined for seven receptions, 126 yards, and a touchdown.

Despite Seattle's run-heavy approach, they will need as much firepower on offense as possible against the formidable Dallas Cowboys defense in the Wild Card this week.
