The Seattle Seahawks will face the Minnesota Vikings in Week 13 in a game that could have playoff implications in the NFC. Luckily for Seattle, Jadeveon Clowney will be back with the defense versus the Vikings per Tom Pelissero.

Last week, Clowney was ruled out by the Seahawks due to a core injury that he's been dealing with since Week 11 against the San Francisco 49ers. After getting a week off, it appears as if Clowney is primed to return to Seattle's defense on Monday night.

However, the injury is serious enough that Clowney still hasn't ruled out the possibility of undergoing surgery. Of course, the choice to receive surgery on his core injury would likely end his season.

Therefore, if he does choose to go the surgery route, it would likely come after the season concludes. When hearing how tough it is for Clowney to move his leg, you have to wonder if the risk of him re-injuring himself is worth it.

Seattle acquired Clowney from the Houston Texans via trade from the Houston Texans before the season kicked off. The three-time Pro Bowler has compiled three sacks, five tackles for loss, 12 quarterback hits, three interceptions, and a pick-six.

The sack numbers may be below his usual standards but Clowney has bolstered Seattle's run defense since his arrival. The Seahawks could definitely use Clowney's edge presence when they take on Dalvin Cook on Monday.

Currently, the Seahawks believe that they will have their athletic outside linebacker available in Week 13. But there's still the chance that Seattle chooses to err on the side of caution with Clowney by sitting him for another game.
