Seattle Seahawks strong safety Jamal Adams believes wide receiver DK Metcalf is a new era version of Calvin Johnson.

Metcalf, who is built like Johnson, has been a monster for the Seahawks through the first five weeks of the 2020 season.

Calvin Johnson was nicknamed Megatron during his career. The 6-foot-5 wideout was virtually unguardable during his prime with the Lions and it appears DK Metcalf is already in the same boat with the Seahawks.

Metcalf, who is 6-foot-4, has caught 22 passes on the season from Russell Wilson for 496 yards and five touchdowns. He recorded the game-winning touchdown in Week 5 against the Minnesota Vikings to help the team win by a final score of 27-26 at home.

Johnson finished his NFL career with 731 receptions for 11,619 yards and 83 touchdowns with the Lions. He retired after the end of the 2015 season and will certainly make the Hall of Fame one day.

The Seahawks look like they are primed for another Super Bowl run with Wilson and Metcalf leading the way on offense. Seattle will look to improve to 6-0 on the season in Week 7 against the Arizona Cardinals. They have Week 6 off due to their bye week, which will allow Jamal Adams to rest and recover from his groin strain.

Thus far on the 2020 season, Adams has recorded 14 solo tackles in his first year with the Seahawks after requesting a trade from the New York Jets.
