Seattle Seahawks running back Thomas Rawls almost literally paid an arm for something a teammate did during his team’s 17-14 loss to the Washington Redskins last Sunday.

Rawls was trying to gain yards on a rushing play in the fourth quarter of that game, but didn’t get any as Redskins cornerback Josh Norman grabbed the running back’s arm and pulled it to stop Rawls on his tracks.

Speaking to 106.7 The Fan’s hosts, Grant Paulsen and Danny Rouhier, Norman explained why he acted so aggressively in stopping Rawls. It turns out that Norman was merely trying to vent on his frustration about an earlier play in which he was called for a horsecollar penalty, while Seahawks tight end Jimmy Graham wasn’t even though he grabbed Norman’s mask.

“I kind of get a little emotional, heated when things like that happen,” he said. “So I kind of took it upon myself, the next time that did happen, I was gonna… So I saw it again. Number 34, he hits it outside, and he just put his arm out there, and it looked like some chum meat.”

Josh Norman got a little bit too graphic in breaking down his actions, which also shows how much of a competitor the polarizing cornerback is when he’s on the field.

“So, I just went out there and I grabbed it, and I wanted to take it off its socket,” he said. “You know, I really wanted to take his arm off his shoulder, but I couldn’t because of how the ankle was, so I just took it down with me, and I looked and made sure he didn’t get to the first down, and I got up and I was excited, man. I really was.”

Fortunately for Rawls, he was able to walk away from Norman’s tackle with his arm still intact, but not with a win.
