Seattle Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright is expected to make his return to action in the team's Week 16 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Wright has missed the past five games due to a knee injury, but it sounds like he's more than ready to get back on the field to try to help the Seahawks continue their push to the playoffs.

Seattle suffered a missed opportunity in Week 15 when it lost to the San Francisco 49ers, and now Pete Carroll's team will try to regain their momentum by overpowering a tough Kansas City Chiefs squad.

And despite Wright likely being limited in terms of how many plays he'll be on the field, he should at least be a part of the Seahawks defense on Sunday.

From Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk:

Seahawks weakside linebacker K.J. Wright is off the injury report. He will return this week after missing the past five games with a knee injury.

Wright, though, will come back on a pitch count.

“When we make the playoffs I’ll be playing every play then,” Wright said, via Gregg Bell of The News Tribune. “I’m not used to it. I’m used to being out there all the time, but at the same time, you’ve got to be smart, got to listen to your body.”

Wright has 14 combined tackles this season, and he'll try to ramp up his production as the Seahawks try to build a lot of momentum for the postseason.

After the matchup with the Chiefs, Seattle will host the Arizona Cardinals in Week 17.
