The Seattle Seahawks have opened their training camp this week and Bobby Wagner isn't holding out for a new contract. Although, Wagner is holding out hope that Seattle can give him a new deal soon.

According to Joe Fann of NBC Sports, K.J. Wright thinks a new deal is close for Wagner and the Seahawks. Wright is Wagner's teammate on the Seahawks and may know something we don't.

Heading into 2019, Wagner is entering the final year of his current contract. This season, Wagner will make $10.5 million which is the most for an inside linebacker in 2019. So what's the problem?

Wagner has let it be known that he wants a deal that exceeds what C.J. Mosley was given earlier this offseason by the New York Jets. The Jets gave Mosley a five-year, $85 million contract that pays him $17 million annually.

Undoubtedly, Wagner is arguably the best inside linebacker in the NFL and deserves to be paid as such. Unfortunately for the Seahawks, with the Jets signing Mosley, it raised the asking price for Wagner.

Since coming into the NFL in 2012, Wagner has had only one season where he has had less than 130 total tackles. Of course, Seattle wants to keep him but the price is going to be steep.

So far, Wagner has shown up to training camp and hasn't shown any signs of holding out. Both sides continue to communicate and Wagner is hoping for a deal very soon.

Although, K.J. Wright believes a deal will be done soon and Wagner will walk away happy with a lucrative extension.
