Heading into Week 17, there was much-growing chatter surrounding Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll possibly retiring after this season.

The 66-year-old wasted little time in personally addressing the situation by stating that he is nowhere near retiring at this point in time.

Carroll still has two years left on his deal that runs through the 2019 campaign. Much of this talk about his possible departure centers around the internal conflicts that have arisen over the season as the Seahawks have struggled with injuries that have led to them missing to the playoffs for the first time since 2011.

Although Seattle narrowly missed out on the postseason, Carroll has provided much stability to the organization throughout his tenure with the franchise. The Seahawks have made the playoffs six times under him in eight seasons that includes a pair of Super Bowl appearances, the franchise's first Super Bowl win, four NFC West division titles, and five consecutive seasons with at least 10 wins.

That said, there could see a lot of turnover ahead in the offseason to help push the franchise back on track in 2018. The bulk of this change may come in the form of roster moves, in particular, addressing both their running back and offensive line situations. Carroll will likely play a huge part in helping construct a more competitive roster over this upcoming offseason.
