Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll didn't want to blame external factors for the team's loss on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers but admitted that the Levi's Stadium turf was really lousy.

Carroll said on Monday that the players were having a hard time getting any footing and that did have an effect on the game, but the 49ers also had to deal with it, so it's not an excuse.

“It wasn’t great,” Seattle coach Pete Carroll told reporters on Monday via Pro Football Talk. “It wasn’t great. There were guys slipping all over the place and you could see guys in pass protection, you could see guys on field goal protection sticking their cleats in the ground and it was moving. It’s the same on both sides of the ball, though. They’re subject to the same turf that we are, so there’s no reason to complain about it. It just is what it is. It was a factor.”

Carroll also said that he wasn't surprised that the field was like that and he game planned for it coming in. This is just the latest example of a field not being up to par with what it should be in a multi-billion dollar industry. The field in London wasn't good, and it seems like places like Washington and Oakland always have complaints about the field.

It's something that the NFL needs to look into and try to fix because the last thing the NFL needs is another star getting injured because of crappy field conditions.
