Russell Wilson will be playing in his sixth Pro Bowl on Sunday and the dynamic quarterback is seemingly trying to recruit players to the Seattle Seahawks. Ahead of the Pro Bowl, Wilson is calling for more “superstars” to join Seattle next season.

Per Bob Condotta in the Seattle Times:

“I think we need a couple more (players),’’ Wilson said. “I think we need a couple more. (Defensive end) Jadeveon (Clowney) is a big-time guy that we would love to get back on our football team. He was so good in the locker room. He brought so many just havoc plays to the field. Hopefully, we can get a few other players there on the defense. Then also on offense, we have a great offense, but I think we can always add more pieces. I think that’s going to be the part that’s going to be great with (general manager) John Schneider and (coach) Pete (Carroll), as well, in terms of this offseason’s free agency. Free agency is very, very key to getting those superstars on your team and try to get great players that can fill the space.”

The free agency period of the offseason is right around the corner for the NFL. As the Seahawks gear up for free agency, they are projected to have nearly $64 million to spend, per Spotrac. That is more than enough to lure some of the coveted players to Seattle.

Last offseason, the Seahawks were able to acquire Jadeveon Clowney via trade. After his first season with the team, the Seahawks will have to decide on whether to retain him in the offseason or not.

Besides Clowney, it's evident that Seattle needs to add some pieces on both sides of the ball. In light of that, Wilson is doing everything he can to convince some of the best players in the league to join the Seahawks.
