The Seattle Seahawks are coming off a 2017 season where they experienced some notable struggles on the offensive side of the ball that contributed to their shortcomings of missing the playoffs.

However, Seattle has spent some of the offseason addressing those issues by adding more talent to the mix along with a new offensive coordinator inBrian Schottenheimer. According to John Boyle of Seahawks.com, Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson believes that his team will experience a strong offensive showing in the 2018 season.

The change in offensive philosophy along with the addition of more help offensively could help the Seahawks move toward competing for a playoff spot next season. A big part of that equation could finally be some stability in the running game with rookie Rashaad Penny potentially stepping in as the starter in a significant role as the primary factor in the backfield.

This is something that the Seahawks lacked this past season finishing 23rd-best rushing attack in the league this past season totaling just 1,629 rushing yards. In fact, Wilson led the team with 586 yards while recording three of their four rushing touchdowns. This could also make up for the loss of Pro Bowl tight end Jimmy Graham in free agency to the Green Bay Packers on a three-year, $30 million deal.

Wilson will figure to factor greatly as the leading force while their remolded defense continues to take shape after the departure of notable cornerstone players over the offseason. If the Seahawks hope to compete in what has become a highly competitive NFC West, it will need to them to become a more formidable offense.
