Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has already played seven years in the league, but if he gets his choice that will only be 1/3 of his NFL career. Back in 2012 after being drafted, he said his goals were to play 12 years in the league and win a Super Bowl. Seven years later his goals have changed a bit and he still thinks he has a lot left to give the game.

“Seven years has gone by so fast,” Wilson said via NFL.com. “You think about just turning 30 years and what I have for the rest of my career — for the next 10-15 years — I'm just fired up about it. You think about some of the best quarterbacks of all time, guys like Drew (Brees), guys like Tom (Brady), who (are playing into their 40s). I really look up to those guys. There's so much more to do.”

When asked if that meant he wanted to play till he was 45 his answer was pretty simple.

“Yeah, yeah,” he replied. “That's the goal. I'm just fired up for it.”

Wilson is 30 years old, but doesn't think he has hit his prime yet, and knows the best years in his career are still ahead of him.

The former Wisconsin Badgers star has stayed away from the big injuries so far in his career and that is key in making it to 45 years old and still playing in the NFL. Last year Wilson threw for 3,448 yards, 35 touchdowns, and seven interceptions and the expectation is that he will have better stats this year.
