The Seattle Seahawks are exploring a trade for Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette.

Not long after news leaked that the Jaguars have talked to several NFL teams about a trade for Fournette, it has been revealed the Seahawks are a team that's in the mix.

Via Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune:

“And now comes news Jacksonville is shopping trade offers for Leonard Fournette. Yes, expect #Seahawks are in on exploring what option that may (or may not) be. Would really be surprised if SEA hasn't added a running back by this time (end of the draft) next week.”

Fournette entered the NFL as a highly-hyped draft prospect in 2017. The Jaguars selected the former consensus All-American with the No. 4 overall selection.

Since then, Fournette has established himself as the Jaguars' starting running back. He has rushed for over 1,000 yards in two of his first three seasons. He's coming off of a banner campaign in which he established career-highs in rushing yards, yards per attempt, receptions and receiving yards.

Why The Jaguars Are Tempted To Move Fournette

However, the Jaguars appear to be ready to move on from Fournette. The news doesn't come long after Fournette vouched for the team to sign Cam Newton to potentially replace starting QB Gardner Minshew.

“Cam went to the Super Bowl,” Fournette said. “He's a great guy. I've been knowing Cam for a minute now. And like I told some people that talked to me, it's no disrespect to [Gardner Minshew]. I'm just trying to get in the best position as a team as we can [to] win.

“That's all that was about. Just friendly competition 'cause that brings out the best in people.”

The Seahawks are clearly looking to bolster their rushing attack. With starter Chris Carson returning, Fournette could combine with Carson to form a deadly rushing combo.

It remains to be seen how serious Seattle's interest is. But one thing is for certain — the Jaguars are ready to move Fournette.
