Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks are yet to engage in any contract discussion for a possible extension beyond 2019-20.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, neither Wilson nor the Seahawks have mentioned to each other whether they are hoping to extend his deal or what a potential new contract would look like.

Wilson is one of the league's best athletes, and a top-tier talent at 5-foot-11, 215 pounds. Still only 30 years old, he could potentially remain Seattle's franchise player until retirement.

“To be the franchise quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks is a special thing, so we'll see where that goes,” Wilson said one day after the Seahawks were eliminated by the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC wild-card round. “I don't like talking about my contract or anything like that, but I think good things will happen.”

It looks as if an extension could be settled at some point this offseason.

That is “very much in our plans,” coach Pete Carroll said about the quarterback's future.

If Wilson and the Seahawks are able to ink an agreeable deal, then it would be expected to be the biggest in the NFL this offseason, per Schefter.

A contract that would supersede the $33 million annual average the Green Bay Packers granted to Aaron Rodgers before the 2018 season. However, the team hasn't discussed anything contract-related since the beginning of training camp in 2015. He is set to make $17 million in 2019.

Wilson's resume includes a Super Bowl victory and five Pro Bowls, logging 25,624 total yards and 196 touchdowns in his seven-year career.
