Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and rookie wide receiver D.K. Metcalf have been getting work in away from the training facility. In a video posted to Wilson's Twitter account, Metcalf makes a nice catch for a touchdown at UCLA's training facility in downtown Los Angeles.

The Seahawks traded up in the second round to get Metcalf who is an athletic freak, but who many consider as a one-trick pony.

Metcalf worked heading into the draft with wide receiver guru Jerry Sullivan who tried to help improve his route running. The former Ole Miss standout said he feels a lot more confident with his route running, but it's something he will continue to work on.

“How to run routes, basically,” Metcalf said this spring via The Olympian. “How to stay straight as long as possible. How to break down
.Don’t lean into my routes, or don’t try to stay straight as long as possible, when I break down be decisive in doing that.

“Then, make every route look the same when you come off the ball.”

Wilson has been impressed with what he has seen with Metcalf in the few months they have been together, but he knows that there can always be more work down with the wide receivers.

“Yeah, we throw a bunch of routes,” Wilson said last month. “I think one part of it is just the spending time with each other. And that’s always the fun part.”

“I think also, too, is just really trying to perfect our craft. It’s just like guys in the NBA, you know, offseason they’re shooting around playing with each other, working together and everything else. Just trying to understand what we’re trying to see and what we’re trying to think about
just like anything else.

If the Seahawks offense is going to be good again this year, Metcalf and Wilson's relationship is going to be important, so it's good to see that they are getting extra work in heading into training camp.
