Orlando Magic forward Serge Ibaka will become a restricted free agent in the summer of 2017, but he told reporters on media day that he doesn't plan on leaving the team.

I’m looking to stay here to play forever — for [as] many, many years as possible

Ibaka can stretch the floor with a solid jump shot and his developed 3-point shooting, as well as protect the rim with tenacious shot blocking.

It cost the Magic Victor Oladipo, Ersan Ilyasova, and rookie Domantas Sabonis to get him.

It was a risk that some argued was too high of a price to pay, but Ibaka hasn't considered bolting when his contract deal is up in July.

Magic GM Rob Hennigan says trading for Ibaka was for the long haul, and thinks he will enjoy having a larger role on the team.

As long as both sides remain on the same page, good things will happen for the Magic, and for now Ibaka is giving strong indication that he will be wearing a Magic uniform beyond this season.

I’m not really worried about my contract year or my long-term.

One of the things I learned playing on a good team is when the team wins, when you make the playoffs, everybody looks good. So that’s what will be my focus right now, because if we win and make the playoffs, everything will take care of itself.
