Two characters have been introduced with the addition of the philosophical geo archon Zhongli and the unpredictable hydro wielding bowmaster Tartaglia who also goes by the name Childe.

Fans who have grinded (or spent) their way past dungeons, abyssal mages, and Fatui legionnaires can finally encounter a new experience in their game. If some fans have already complained about the lack of content that the game offers, then miHoYo's latest patch updated could freshen their minds.

Unlike the other hydro based characters, Childe isn't deployed in the supporting role as his attacks and abilities showcase him as a damage centric type. If the likes of Barbara, Mona, and Xingqiu are more of hit-and-switch types, Childe is best used for prolonged battles due to his area of effect damage as he could dish out a plethora of hydro-based attacks when consecutively attacking a single target, which could also bounce to multiple enemies.

In addition Childe can switch between a bow and his melee weapon, giving him a variety of offensive options.

Though he may look invincible based on his damage outburst and area of effect mechanic, he does have his own flaws. His biggest weakness is that you cannot heavily depend on his melee attacks as he will immediately switch to his range stance after a certain duration. A long cooldown will occur after the switch from melee to range. In order to minimize the long cooldown, the player has three options namely to immediately transition to his range form, switch to a new character, or rely on Stella Fortunas to gain cooldown constellations.

Now that we've assessed his character, should fans eagerly or tearfully spend their bank accounts to acquire wishes and await the fate that lady luck bestows on them?

Given his damage outburst and his ability to annihilate groups of enemies, Childe is definitely a powerful member in one's arsenal which suits well for aggressive players that love to spam Keqing, Diluc, Fischl, and Xiangling. You may also balance things out with Xingqui, Venti, or Barbara as your support options. You may also try a counterattacking build with Childe, Beidou, Xingqui, and another cryo or geo based character. If you want to have fun or experiment on the idea of Childe carrying the underwhelming free to play characters then perhaps you can give it a try. It could potentially work since Amber is a pyro based archer and Lisa is an electro based mage where their skills can enhance the damage output of Childe's water based attacks, plus Kaeya's cryo based assaults can freeze the opposition when combined with Childe's abilities.

Aesthetically wise, Childe is as husbando a character can get. So why not just go for it, you might get lucky.
