Evil Geniuses beats Invictus Gaming 3-2 in the Grand Finals of the Singapore Major. This gives Abed, Arteezy, Evil Geniuses, and the entire NA region their first Dota 2 Major Championship ever.

INVICTUS GAMING BEATS PSG.LGD TO MEET EG IN THE GRAND FINALS

Invictus Gaming and PSG.LGD share a lot of similarities. They come from the same Chinese region, and they both were sent to the lower bracket by Evil Geniuses. In this series, the two fought for the right to have a rematch against the NA finalists.

The series was very close as a whole. IG took game 1 with a dominant victory. PSG.LGD was able to turn the tables momentarily in the mid-game during that match, but IG quickly rallied and put LGD down completely.

In Game 2, PSG.LGD dominated IG in return, coming off a flawless game from Ame.

Thanks to Ame's performance with his Troll Warlord in Game 2, PSG.LGD decided to go with the same carry hero in Game 3. This worked well for LGD for the first half of the game, amplified by their Shadow Shaman's strong push. However, they struggled to knock towers down from the high ground. This gave IG the opportunity to turn things around when they punished a very bad attempt by LGD for the Roshan. With the Aegis with them, IG was able to obliterate PSG.LGD once and for all.

PSG.LGD goes home with $75,000 and 400 PC Points.

INVICTUS GAMING REVERSE-SWEEPS EVIL GENIUSES IN THE SINGAPORE MAJOR GRAND FINAL

Invictus Gaming extends Arteezy's curse, overcoming a potential sweep with a 3-2 win over Evil Geniuses.

Evil Geniuses played all their games with Storm Spirit on Abed. This anchor for their main strategy became their team's core focus throughout the series. It also led to a two-game lead by Evil Geniuses. EG completely dominated the first two games, with Abed's Storm Spirit playing a critical role in those wins. The third game almost went in favor of Evil Geniuses, with EG having a massive lead in the mid-game.

However, a series of clashes saw Storm Spirit fall off in Game 3. Invictus Gaming took the opportunity and beat Evil Geniuses in a late-game rally. Special mention to kaka's Nyx Assassin that so effectively boxed out their opponents while on high ground siege. This match encapsulates how the rest of the series is like. IG's confidence boost from defeating Evil Geniuses was enough to completely shut down their opponents. EG, on the other hand, seem to have been really shaken by their Game 3 loss. EG just didn't play as well as they did in their previous matches, and were completely outplayed by IG in Games 4 and 5. In Game 5, EG drafted a Haily Mary Enigma that will either make or break their final game. In the end, iceiceice on the Enigma became inconsequential, with multiple missed Black Holes that helped seal the fate of Evil Geniuses. Hence, Invictus Gaming becomes The Singapore Major champions.
