After missing the entirety of last season due to a Jones Fracture on his foot, Ben Simmons is slowly heading towards his full recovery, and will finally be debuting for the Philadelphia 76ers. The hopes of their fans were given some further lift recently when it was reported that he played in a pickup game back home in Australia.

However, it wasn’t just about him playing. The 20-year-old sensation also dominated, scoring 34 points, according to a piece made by Tom Moore of The Intelligencer.

“During an amateur contest in the Melbourne suburb of Greensborough, Simmons poured in 34 points, including 17 in the fourth quarter, at the Diamond Valley Sports Centre, according to multiple accounts in Australian publications.”

“Simmons had 16 made field goals and two free throws in the contest, which was described as a “local pickup” contest.”

A video also surfaced where the LSU product threw down an impressive dunk, which proves even more that he is very close to 100 percent.

This is definitely good news for the Philly faithful, as there’s a bigger chance now that their team will be at full strength once the new season starts. With the return of Joel Embiid, the debut of Ben Simmons, along with the addition of Markelle Fultz and J.J. Redick to their fold this summer, exciting times are in the offing for Sixers fans. Indeed, trusting the process pays off.
