The Philadelphia 76ers are undoubtedly on the come up. They've made the right moves by improving their upper management and have the number one overall pick in the NBA Draft this summer. They'll have a chance at drafting either Ben Simmons or Brandon Ingram. Aside from the big pick, however, the Sixers have another major thing to look forward to: The return of Joel Embiid.

Head coach Brett Brown said he was confident that Embiid can return for opening night, but Andrew Porter of CBS Philly reports on Brown's confidence that Embiid could be back way earlier.

“There is a chance,” Brown told CSN Philly. “I don’t know how great that chance is. Joel's progress and his day-to-day stuff is obviously heavily scrutinized. We’ve come so far that we don’t want to do anything reckless. I say there is a chance. I can’t really quantify if it is a big chance or a small chance, but it is still on the table and we’re monitoring him every single and he’s doing very very well.”

Embiid tweeted out earlier last week that he's going to be ready after the Sixers got the number one overall pick.

Embiid's return would be huge for an organization that has struggled mightily for many years. There's really no way to go but up, and a few years of experience mixed with a veteran presence should have this team on the come-up.
