Joel Embiid firmly believes he is just like Kevin Durant. Yup, you read that right. The Philadelphia 76ers superstar nonchalantly compared himself to the former MVP after putting on a clinic on Monday night against the Dallas Mavericks.

Embiid channeled his best Slim Reaper impression against the Mavericks, exploding for 36 points in just 26 minutes in their 13-95 win. According to Embiid, there are five things about his game that make him play like Durant (via Forty Eight Minutes).

“I’ve always seen myself as just being, you know, like, I don’t know, Kevin Durant, just moving all over the place, shooting off the dribble, handling the ball, crossovers, posting up.”

Well, he ain't wrong. With what Embiid's been showing this season, it's hard to argue against him. The 27-year-old has displayed his entire arsenal and has helped the Sixers climb all the way to the spot in the Eastern Conference, overtaking Durant's Brooklyn Nets. Embiid has a chance to prove his bold self-comparison when they face Durant on Wednesday.

The imposing big man from Cameroon is a bit taller and a lot heftier compared to Durant, but his impact on the floor has definitely been comparable to the former scoring champion. Embiid, who's putting up monster numbers, has been on a roll, propelling himself among the top contenders in this season's MVP race.

Joel Embiid winning his first MVP trophy would definitely bring him closer to being Kevin Durant, and the Sixers winning the title would definitely cement his case as the big man version of KD.
