Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons found himself in the middle of a scrum in Monday’s game against the Indiana Pacers, during which he inadvertently caused some violence with Doug McDermott.

Though it’s not immediately clear from that video, McDermott lost a tooth on that play and it seems Simmons’ flailing for the loose ball was the reason why.

Of course, Ben Simmons is no stranger to being in the middle of scrums, including when he was termed “The Peacemaker” during a kerfuffle between the Sixers and the Minnesota Timberwolves when the Aussie was deemed to be “calming down Karl-Anthony Towns with his arms.”

This lost tooth from Doug McDermott only added insult to injury for the Pacers, who were never really close with the dominant Sixers.

Simmons, despite being a star/borderline superstar, is not afraid to mix it up and do the dirty work of fighting for loose balls and careening into scrums (such as this one) to try and gain possession for his Sixers.

Despite taking constant criticism for his lack of shooting acumen, Simmons is one of the best players in the league. Now, he will make his third straight All-Star game later this month. Remember, Simmons is still only 24 years old.

Seemingly, the sky is the limit for Simmons with the Sixers in the NBA. His dentistry career, however, will have to wait.
