Inside The NBA analyst and Hall of Fame big man Shaquille O'Neal publicly called out Ben Simmons recently as he continues to be away from the Philadelphia 76ers while racking up more than $19 million fines. Well, the Aussie has apparently contacted Shaq to let him know he wasn't fond of the words said about him. The former Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat star revealed that the Sixers guard actually slid into his DM's on Instagram to voice his displeasure of the hate he received.
Shaq wouldn't go into detail about what Simmons really said, but he made it clear the disgruntled Sixers star was evidently angry. There's no clear picture of a trade coming anytime soon for Simmons either as Daryl Morey continues to way it out for a superstar in return like James Harden or possibly even Bradley Beal. Harden is reportedly open to leaving the Brooklyn Nets this summer, while Beal could be on his way out of DC as well.
Basically, O'Neal just wants to see Simmons come back and help his brothers out. He still has love for Simmons because after all, they're both LSU boys. But, Shaq believes the Australian is simply being immature and just wants to see him back on the court winning back the Sixers fans. However, at this point, that feels extremely unlikely. Simmons' reaction to Shaq's comments proves that he's clearly not going to change his stance on suiting up for Philadelphia ever again.
