NFL Hall of Famer Terrell Owens expressed the need for the Philadelphia 76ers to shake things up a bit as they enter the Doc Rivers-era.

The former Philadelphia Eagles WR backed the rumors of the Sixers possibly sending superstar Ben Simmons to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for the first overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft.

Putting on his NBA GM hat, he tweeted his thoughts on the possible move and noted that should the Sixers get the top pick, they should acquire LaMelo Ball.

Although the deal is highly unlikely, there is an outside chance that Doc Rivers could let Ben Simmons go so he can focus his offense more on center Joel Embiid. Getting a raw talent in Ball would be an interesting acquisition for the 58-year old to jump-start a new chapter in his coaching career with the Sixers.

It has been less than a week since the Sixers picked Rivers to take over the coaching helm and it already seems that it has been quite the busy few days for him. On paper, the Sixers have a number of pieces that could help them win a championship; unfortunately, it has only been good in taking the team as far as the second round of the playoffs in three of the last two seasons.

Hopefully for the franchise, the addition of a tested coach like Rivers ignites a much-needed spark for the team. Look for Doc to do whatever it takes to push the Sixers forward — even if it takes letting go of some of their prized possessions.
