The Philadelphia Sixers have had a lot of success this season, thanks in large part to Joel Embiid's performance without Ben Simmons on the floor. Embiid is the current MVP favorite, scoring 29.2 points and grabbing 10.9 rebounds per game.

Although Philadelphia is finding plenty of success mostly due to Embiid, there have still been other players who have really stepped up for them this year and have had to play a bigger role because Simmons is not with the team. One player who has really stepped up for the Sixers team is Seth Curry. This is Curry's second year in Philadelphia and he's definitely enjoying his second year there. He's currently averaging 15.4 points per game, which is a career-high, and shooting nearly 50% from the field and 40% from 3-point range.

When the Sixers opted to get Curry, everyone knew it would be a great decision. But it's also worth noting that Doc Rivers, the Sixers' head coach, is Curry's father-in-law.

Doc Rivers and Seth Curry appear to get along well, and Doc's remark about his son-in-law is hilarious,

“I didn't see crap in Seth, I just wanted to see my daughter more… If he was a bum I still got to see my grandkids.”

Coach Rivers makes a humorous remark, and it's evident that it's a joke between the two of them. Philadelphia and Doc Rivers must be thrilled with Seth Curry's performance this season, and they'll need him to keep playing at this high level for the rest of the season if they hope to find postseason success.
