Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons has struggled to shoot the ball since day one in the NBA. His meltdown in last year's playoffs even put him on the trading block, but the Sixers have now decided to keep him around for the time being until a superstar becomes available to make a move for. Nonetheless, Simmons' jumper still has potential if you're asking former All-Star Joe Johnson, who believes the Aussie can find consistency. Via TMZ Sports:

“I honestly don't think nothings wrong with it. You see him playing pickup basketball shooting threes, jumpers, fadeaways…so we all know it's there.”

“He just has to take that same confidence to the Sixers from pickup into an NBA game. You can't care about the misses, you just gotta keep taking them.”

Johnson has a point, but we've failed to see that confidence with Simmons. In the postseason, he shot an atrocious 35% from the free-throw line and was basically scared to even attempt to score at the end of the Atlanta Hawks series.

The Sixers guard has been this offseason working with Rajon Rondo on his shot but it remains to be seen if he can actually translate it. At this point, he's unhappy that he even has to stay in Philly after openly requesting a trade. But, Simmons still has big potential and if he can find the jumper, alongside his other skillsets on both ends of the floor, the 25-year-old can be a valuable asset to the Sixers once again.
