The timing of Philadelphia 76ers star Jimmy Butler's recent tweet has led some to believe that he is likely pertaining to the furious trade deadline-related action going down right now in the league. In a rather cryptic message, the 29-year-old Sixers swingman appears to be giving some unsolicited advice to other players who were recently involved in trade deals that have practically uprooted them in the middle of the season.

Butler is no stranger to trades as he himself has been part of two huge, franchise-altering deals in the span of just a year and a half. After being traded by the Chicago Bulls to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the summer of 2017, Butler infamously forced another trade to the Sixers in November of last year after reportedly becoming unwilling to play with his former Wolves teammates.

Based on how he handled the situation in Minnesota a couple of months back, it appears that his statement here definitely holds true for Butler. After reportedly growing unhappy with how things developed with the Wolves, the four-time All-Star took it upon himself to make sure that he was going to be the captain of his own ship. He was not going to let anyone but himself dictate his future, and true enough, he got his wish.

Butler's advice does hold a lot of meaning, but considering how ugly things became prior to his move away from Minnesota, perhaps this would not be the most ideal application of this rather idealistic notion.
