Jimmy Butler is officially a member of the Philadelphia 76ers and the four-time All-Star is excited about the new opportunity he has in front of him.

The Minnesota Timberwolves finally put an end to the Jimmy Butler trade drama by trading the 29-year-old swingman to the Sixers over the weekend. Minnesota acquired Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Jerryd Bayless and a 2022 second-round pick in exchange for Butler.

Upon landing in Philadelphia Monday, Jimmy Butler was greeted by a fan at the airport who wanted his autograph. He also spoke briefly with John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia and said the team is going to try and win a championship.

“Very much so, man,” Butler said when asked how excited he is to be in Philadelphia. “Something new. I'm ready to get started. We got a little ways to go, some things to figure out, but all in all, I look forward to it.

“I'm hard playing, guy that wants to win. We got some things that we want to get done here. We wanna win, want a championship. I think the core group of guys we have, we'll figure out a way to get it done.”

In 10 games this season, Jimmy Butler is averaging 21.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists while shooting 47.1 percent from the field, 37.8 percent from beyond the arc and 78.7 percent from the free-throw line. The Texas native is one of the best two-way players in the game.

A Big Three of Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid and Jimmy Butler figures so strike fear into opponents. It's likely going to take time for the three stars to get on the same page, but once they do, the Sixers have a legit shot to get to the NBA Finals.
