He's finally done it, folks. Philadelphia 76ers superstar big man Joel Embiid has accomplished a long-sought goal after nine years in America.

Embiid can now drive a car.

Citizens of Philadelphia will now be seeing one of their favorite basketball players on the road. It will be interesting to see which luxurious car Embiid decides to purchase.

Embiid was born and raised in Yaounde, Cameroon. His story is one of perseverance and hard work, as not many people make it to the NBA from Africa.

The Sixers are among the 22 teams that will be playing at Walt Disney World in the “bubble games.” The 2019-20 season begins on July 30. The Sixers have already clinched a playoff spot.

Embiid was averaging 23.4 points, 11.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 44 contests for the Sixers before games were suspended in March. Philadelphia has lost in the second round of the playoffs in the last two postseasons, so Embiid and company are motivated to go on a deep playoff run this time around.

Earlier in the year, Embiid pledged $500,000 to coronavirus relief and research effort. The Sixers franchise player said it was important for him to give back since his parents always told him to. Embiid was planning to help 76ers' employees who would suffer financially because of salary reductions the franchise intended to implement with the NBA season suspended.

However, Sixers managing partner Josh Harris changed course and decided to pay all employees their full salaries.
