The relationship between Philadelphia 76ers stars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons has been one of the most dissected aspects of the Sixers' drama with Simmons. Simmons has reportedly been unhappy with Embiid, and others, in the Sixers' organization for quite some time. Of course, with the 2022 NBA trade deadline fast approaching, players on Philadelphia's roster have grown accustomed to being questioned about Simmons and possible trades. Embiid balked when asked about a Simmons trade but offered a very interesting response when questioned about Simmons himself. The Sixers big man called Simmons out.

Sixers big man Joel Embiid is right that a team must share the blame for a loss, but every individual player must look at themselves. Embiid is saying that he was accountable for the playoff loss while implying that that's something Ben Simmons didn't do. The star big man added that there has to be some level of “self-awareness.” And that wasn't all he said.

Embiid said he thought Simmons' reaction to the criticism he took following the Sixers' Game 7 loss to the Atlanta Hawks last year was “definitely unreasonable.”

Of course, Embiid did add that he still feels like having Simmons gives the team the best chance to win. However, one has to wonder if Ben Simmons has any interest in even attempting to continue his Sixers playing relationship with Joel Embiid after these candid comments.
