The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the up-and-coming teams in the NBA. The team amassed talent over the last couple of years and now it seems like the team is ready for more success. With an amazing young core of Ben Simmons, Dario Saric, Markelle Fultz and Joel Embiid, the Sixers are ready to build a serious contender. The latter of the four is probably the biggest talent.

Embiid, the Cameroonian center, is a unique mix of physical prowess with a guard-like skill-set. The 7-footer can dribble and shoot like a guard, yet still take the ball down in the post. Due to this, he is probably going to seek the maximum possible contract when eligible.

However, Embiid is not without his flaws. The center played only 31 games in his NBA career, and injuries might be a concern for the future. Right now, the franchise is negotiating a contract renewal with their young star and, per Tom Moore from Bucks County Courier Times, it is not going flawlessly.

In addition to being so talented, Embiid is extremely popular with the fans because of his outgoing personality and social media engagement, as well as his rare basketball skill set for a man of his size.

“He's got the public on his side,” said a league source. “It's a public relations nightmare (for the Sixers).”

Embiid is one of the most popular players in the league. Despite playing only one of the three seasons since he was drafted, his positive spirit, hustle and general ‘likeability' made him a hero for 76ers fans. His social media antics, however, made him a hero for all NBA fans.

Philly has until October 31 to make a decision. Embiid is seeking $100 million over four years, but a deal is not yet close.
