After two long years, Joel Embiid finally made his much anticipated debut last season for the Philadelphia 76ers. While he was on a minutes restriction, he has made the most out of the court action he saw, despite only being able to play in 31 games. He emerged as a strong candidate for the Rookie of the Year Award, and showcased his impressive skill set whenever he was on the floor.

Now having recovered from his knee injury that forced him to shorten his rookie season, he is ready to continue his solid play and prove all his doubters wrong. He even took to his Twitter account recently and fired a shot at them, making it known that he will come back stronger than ever.

The 7-foot Cameroonian may have only averaged 25.4 minutes per outing, but he was still able to produce 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.5 blocks. More importantly, he has given the Philly faithful a lot to look forward to, and the hope that their streak of consecutive losing seasons could be over soon.

With the addition of Markelle Fultz and J.J. Redick coupled with the impending debut of Ben Simmons, the future definitely looks bright for the Sixers. If they can all co-exist on the floor and play as advertised, the team could be in line for one of its best seasons yet, and could even emerge as a contender in the East.
