Sixers superstar Joel Embiid was forced to exit Thursday's matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers. Embiid landed awkwardly after a mid-air collision with Blazers big man Enes Kanter.

Embiid appears to have injured his right knee as the three-time All-Star headed to the locker room shortly after the incident. Here's a look at Embiid's injury scare courtesy of ClutchPoints on Twitter:

Embiid entered Thursday's contest already banged up, with the 26-year-old dealing with a back problem. Embiid was able to suit up for Philly in a win against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday following one game on the sidelines because of the aforementioned back injury.

Thursday was the second night of a back-to-back set for the Sixers, and the fact that Embiid was able to play in this one was already a noteworthy fact.

The severity of the injury has yet to be revealed, and it is worth noting that Embiid initially tried to walk it off. The good news for the Sixers here is that their star big man was able to return to the court after spending some time in the locker room:

In fact, Embiid dominated in his return, finishing with 31 points and four rebounds on 11-of-17 shooting from the field and 9-of-9 from the free throw line.

It appears that Embiid and the Sixers may have just dodged a bullet here.
