Joel Embiid came up with another monstrous performance on Tuesday night as he led the Sixers to a 131-122 win against the Indiana Pacers. The five-time All-Star exploded for 45 points en route to surpassing Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James in the race for this year's scoring title.

After Tuesday's eruption, Embiid is now averaging 30.424 points as opposed to LeBron's 30.268 (h/t SportsCenter on Twitter):

The scoring title is now Embiid's to lose. Not only has the Sixers big man clinched the top spot, but it is also worth noting that LeBron needs to play in two more games just to be able to qualify for the title. James has played in just 56 games for the Lakers this season and he missed Tuesday's clash against the Suns. With the season now officially over for LA, it is likely that LeBron, who has been playing through an ankle injury, has played his last game of the campaign.

You cannot count Giannis Antetokounmpo out of the race as well. The Milwaukee Bucks won on Tuesday against the Chicago Bulls, 127-106, but the former back-to-back MVP scored just 18 points. Nevertheless, Embiid's lead over Giannis isn't comfortable right now, and the Bucks star could still come from behind to take the scoring title.
