They might have been booted out in the second round. But the mere fact that the Philadelphia 76ers got that far is a testament to a bright future for the franchise. They have two potential superstars in Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid who have not even reached their prime just yet. And early in their career, they seem to be driven to win a ring.

After being eliminated by the Boston Celtics, Embiid shared his conversation with Simmons. They talked about their future and their mission to win several championship rings and probably build a dynasty in Philadelphia. Per Ben Golliver of Sports Illustrated, the 24-year-old Cameroonian said:

“Me & Ben have a lot of room to grow. Looking at KD and Westbrook, what they did the first season together, I think they won 28 games… We have a bright future. [Simmons] came up to me, showed me his hands, and said there's going to be a lot of rings.”

The talent and hunger for success are already there for the Sixers' stars. All they need to is to acquire more experience and build up their basketball IQ.

The franchise, after several years as one of the league's perennial bottomfeeders, is now shaping up to be a contender. They all have the pieces firmly in place. In two to three years, expect Simmons and Embiid to fully mature. And as Simmons promised, a ring or two may also be included.
