Joel Embiid did not look right in Game 5. The Philadelphia 76ers star was battling all evening, but just didn't resemble the world-destroying scorer who was an MVP contender all season.

Embiid himself knew he wasn't at his best on Tuesday night. The Sixers star spoke candidly after the game about only going as far as his battered body would take him.

Via Kyle Neubeck:

“Thought coming in I had the right mindset, I had the right mindset about what i wanted to accomplish…there’s a lot going on, sometimes your body and whatever’s going on won’t allow you to just be yourself. In those moments, you have to keep pushing and hope for the best,” admitted the Sixers star.

Joel Embiid didn't have an inefficient Game 5. He shot over 50% from the field with a 7-for-12 shooting clip. But his aggression on both ends of the floor was evidently sapped throughout the game. Taking just 12 shots from the field and three attempts from the free throw line in a game the Sixers needed him to have a big game is just uncharacteristic of Joel Embiid.

But the Sixers star was clearly battling his injuries throughout the game, taking tough blows and visibly wincing at times during the lopsided loss.

Joel Embiid will have a day of rest to get right for Game 6. Healthy or not, he'll need to lay everything on the line to keep the Sixers' season from ending.
