Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid is one of the most talented players in the league. He's a double-double machine. He's a two-time All-Star. He is a sometimes unstoppable force on the low block.

But, his lack of maturity is something that has been a problem for him, and Brooklyn Nets forward Jared Dudley says that Embiid will essentially need to grow up as he gets further into his NBA career.

“Joel likes attention. He likes to troll guys,” Dudley said, according to Jackie MacMullan of ESPN. “We get it. It's OK early on, but there will come a point in the next year or two, where now he's a four- or five-time All-Star, where he's got to shape his persona. When you're big, you want to try and sell yourself, market yourself. He's funny on social media and he has the game to back it up. But he has to be careful of when to do it and how he does it. That's the whole thing.”

Dudley got into a scuffle with Embiid during Game 4 of the Nets' first-round playoff series against the 76ers, following a hard foul that Embiid delivered on Brooklyn center Jarrett Allen. In Game 2, Embiid elbowed Allen in the face and then proceeded to laugh about it with Ben Simmons after the game, which struck a cord in the Nets' locker room.

“Because now you have championship aspirations. Everyone is watching,” added Dudley. “Dwight Howard was similar. He was a big guy, a big personality, but his goofing around eventually turned people [against him]. There will come a point when [Embiid's] teammates will leave the Sixers. How they talk about him after they are gone, how they view him, that will tell us a lot.”

The veteran went on to say that as long as Embiid cleans up his act, “the sky's the limit” as far as how great he can be.
