Summer lovin' happened so fast. As a result, Philadelphia 76ers phenom Ben Simmons should stay out of the tabloids for the foreseeable future. According to McKenna Aiello of E! News, the Sixers' forward and reality television star Kendall Jenner are putting the breaks on their relationship. Aiello is reporting that the relationship between the two was more of a summer fling than anything else.
It's been reported that Jenner was not looking for anything long-term. It should be recalled that the pair took a trip to Mexico with Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson.
The NBA's reigning Rookie of the Year is looking to bounce back after being trounced in the playoffs by an undermanned Boston Celtics team in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Simmons had an up and down series. Game 2 was a low point for the point forward where he only scored one point during that game and was a non-factor on the court.
But despite his struggles in the playoffs, Simmons has immense talent. The 6-foot-10 point forward averaged 15.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game in his rookie campaign. Not to mention, he did this without having any threat of an outside shot. Simmons only took 11 three-pointers last season and he didn't make a single one.
If he can add that facet to his game, he will give opposing coaches nightmares. But if you're looking for someone to make the argument that he should be working on his shot instead of hanging out with Kendall Jenner, this isn't the place. Simmons should be able to live his life without having every single move he makes scrutinized. If he hasn't developed an outside shot yet, it's not because he was palling around with Jenner this summer.
