If you follow the NBA, you know that Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons is a prolific signal-caller with the ability to score at the rim and dish the rock all over the court. However, you also know that Simmons has had his troubles shooting the basketball while the nearly seven-foot-tall point guard rarely even attempts to shoot from behind the arc.

With the Sixers hosting the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday afternoon, Ben Simmons attempted the unthinkable!

While it came as a surprise overall with the Australian guard attempting a 3-pointer, the fashion in which he did so was even more baffling — a pull-up?! It is worth noting, though, that Simmons almost hit the unlikely attempt from behind the three-point line!

Regardless of his inability to shoot the basketball well, Simmons has become one of the most talked about players from around the league and appears to be morphing into a perennial All-Star. The 22-year-old is currently in the midst of his second NBA season — on the court — while originally coming off the board to the Sixers at No. 1 overall back in 2016 out of LSU.

Entering Sunday afternoon's affair against the Lakers, Simmons is averaging 16.9 points, 9.3 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 1.3 steals across a whopping 33.9 minutes per outing. As a rookie last season, he averaged 15.8 points, 8.2 assists, 8.1 rebounds and 1.7 steals across 33.7 minutes per game. Simmons also appeared in 81 of the 76ers' 82 regular season games as a rookie in 2017-18.
