The Philadelphia 76ers got some help in Game 3 of their first round series against the Miami Heat. With the series shifting to South Beach for Games 3 and 4 on Thursday night and Saturday afternoon, the Sixers received news that first-time All-Star center Joel Embiid was cleared to play in his first game since since March 28th against the New York Knicks.

Embiid came up with a solid first half, finishing with 11 points, three rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block in 14 minutes. The Sixers trailed at the half 63-64, but most of the damage from Miami, however, did not come from center Hassan Whiteside.

Whiteside was essentailly shut down in the first half, scoring three points, grabbing two rebounds, and blocking one shot in just eight, foul-riddled minutes of action.

Embiid drew a shooting foul on Whiteside with 8:15 left in the 2nd quarter, which happened to be the Heat center's third foul. Embiid surely knew it, and savagely rubbed it in his face as he headed to the free throw line.

The Heat will surely need a better second half from Whiteside if they want to pull off a Game 3 victory and take a 2-1 series lead over the young and pesky Sixers.
