Georginio Wijnaldum's stint with Paris Saint-Germain hasn't gone to plan, leading to speculation that the Dutch midfielder could seek out a return to the Premier League in the summer transfer window. Wijnaldum has been linked to a few clubs, including his former squad Newcastle United, but the favorite to land his services is considered to be Arsenal. The London club is keen on adding the talented midfielder, and Arsenal's pursuit of the former Liverpool man may have been given a boost by rumors over N'Golo Kante's future with Chelsea.
Kante has just 18 months remaining on his current contract with the club, and rumors have linked the star holding midfielder with a move to Paris. The Frenchman's arrival at PSG would make it even harder for Wijnaldum to get on the field, and would all but force him out of the club, at which point Arsenal could make a swoop for the 31-year-old.
Of course, Chelsea will likely do all they can to keep Kante in town, though they've long been linked with a move for former Academy talent Declan Rice, who has become a star at West Ham. Some feel that Rice could serve as a suitable replacement for Kante, which keeps the possibility of Kante moving to Paris open.
Arsenal will be closely monitoring Wijnaldum as the summer transfer window approaches, and they could receive an indirect boost from their London-based rivals in their push to bring him back to the Premier League. While Wijnaldum has denied links to the Gunners in the past, it's becoming clear that he's grown frustrated with his lack of opportunity at PSG.
