You can add Chelsea to the list of teams that will not be signing Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

According to The Guardian, the Manchester United striker was offered to the Blues after voicing his desire to leave Old Trafford but once the idea was discussed with boss Thomas Tuchel, the German wasn't interested.

It is believed that Chelsea – who completed the signing of Raheem Sterling on Wednesday from Manchester City for £50m – have rejected the opportunity after discussions with Thomas Tuchel. The manager plans to mould a versatile, fluid attack and, having allowed Romelu Lukaku to join Internazionale on loan, has Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Sterling and Armanda Broja as his main striking options. Broja, who spent last season on loan at Southampton, has attracted strong interest from West Ham.

This is certainly disappointing. Chelsea already loaned out Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan and although he had a rough campaign last season, the Belgian still led the squad with eight Premier League goals. Raheem Sterling should make a notable difference in the final third, but Ronaldo could've been the No. 9 this side needed.

Instead, Chelsea is focusing on their backline. They just signed Kalidou Koulibaly but they still need another center-back as well. Presnel Kimpembe of PSG is currently on their radar.

Cristiano Ronaldo was already snubbed by the Ligue 1 giants and Bayern. Napoli is another club that could sign the Portuguese international, who bagged 24 goals in 38 appearances last term.

Not exactly the most logical decision from Chelsea, but Tuchel evidently appears to believe his attack will be just fine without one of the most clinical finishers on the globe. Not sure if that'll be the case, though.
