Christian Eriksen finally completed his heroic return to football on Saturday after his scary collapse at Euro 2020 with Denmark where many believed he would never be able to play the beautiful game again.
The Dane came on as a substitute in the 52nd minute for Brentford in a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle and received a warm welcome from the home supporters. Following his first game in more than six months, Eriksen had quite the heartfelt reaction to his whirlwind of a journey.

Christian Eriksen signed with the Bees last month of a six-month deal after mutually agreeing with Inter Milan to terminate his contract because of the Serie A's rules against players being fitted with defibrillators. The Premier League was thankfully one of Europe's top-five leagues who allowed it, paving the way for his return to England following a prestigious career at Tottenham.
The whole football world stood still last June when he hit collapsed in Copenhagen, with medical officials having to resuscitate Eriksen. It's been a long road to this point, but as you can see, Christian Eriksen is absolutely thrilled to be on the pitch again, even if it's only as a substitute. At 29-years-old, he still has many playing years ahead if he can stay healthy.
