Lionel Messi has made his decisions known. According to L'Equipe, his father Jorge has informed Paris Saint-Germain that the Barcelona megastar has decided to make Manchester City his new home.

PSG sporting director Leonardo has reached out to Jorge Messi to inform him of PSG's interest to bring in his son to play next to former running mate Neymar. Though it didn't take long for Leonardo to find out that Lionel Messi had already made up his mind about a reunion with former manager Pep Guardiola.

According to Argentinian newspaper Olé, PSG had looked to hijack the deal in place with Manchester City, as Jorge Messi had been spotted in Manchester earlier this week, looking to eke out terms with the club.

Many anticipated it wouldn't be long before PSG had an offer in hand for Lionel Messi, despite early rumors that made the French champions more of an outside threat to nab him from Barcelona.

Due to the recent signings of Neymar and Kylian Mbappé, which vault over €400 million in transfer fees, the club would be hard-pressed to get a player like Messi without a free transfer. The Argentinian wonder would also have to take a discount on his weekly wages to fit in a star-laden roster next to Neymar and Mbappé.

French site Telefoot reported Neymar called Lionel Messi on Thursday to try to convince him of making the move.

Manchester City has reportedly already lined out a deal that would give Barcelona €100 million for his transfer along with the rights to Bernardo Silva, Gabriel Jesus, and Eric García — a substantial offer to start the dialogue.

Barcelona could be hellbent on that €700 million figure, but that is a sum that many clubs would consider “impossible” under the Financial Fair Play rules.
