Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson is around for the long haul. The club announced on Tuesday that he has signed a new deal with the Reds which will keep him at Anfield until 2026.

The Scotland international was absolutely buzzing to put pen to paper with Liverpool:

“I want to stay at this club for as long as possible and to extend my stay, it’s always a happy time for me, for my family. We’re settled here, we love everything about this football club and I’m glad that the journey is continuing.”

Robertson joined Liverpool from Hull City in 2017 and instantly became a key part of Jurgen Klopp's starting XI. During his time with the Merseysiders, the defender has won the Premier League, Champions League, Super Cup, and Club World Cup.

The 27-year-old Robertson now has 177 appearances under his belt for Liverpool and also captains the Scotland National Team, who competed in Euro 2020 but were knocked out in the group stages.

Robertson becomes the fifth player in Klopp's squad to ink a new deal with the Premier League giants, joining Fabinho, Virgin van Dijk, Allison Becker, and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

While the Scot missed Liverpool's first two matches of the campaign due to an ankle injury, he's expected to be ready for selection this weekend in a massive clash with Chelsea.
